On a quiet street sat a large light green house with a stone porch & white pillars. The bay windows on either side of the front door were crowned with leaded glass panels. Inside the house lived five extraordinary girls with two remarkable parents. They were American born Irish catholics. Found your blog while searching for info on Kaap's candy shop. My parents are originally from Green Bay. In fact, my mother was actually born in 911 South Jackson! How funny! Spent many weekends of my childhood visiting my grandparents in Green Bay. Remember Emil's bakery on Webster? How about the restaurant in the Union Hotel? My grandmother often took me shopping on Saturdays and we'd have lunch at Prange's overlooking the river. But of course, Kroll's was my favorite.
